Despite popular use of the term, there is no such concept in law as ‘common law’ husband or wife. If you are or were co-habiting and separate then we are able to assist and advise you regarding your separation. When co-habitees separate they are not treated by the law in the same way as those who are married or in a civil partnership and you should therefore obtain legal advice. If you have children together then there may be further protective financial measures available to you. It is therefore important that you obtain legal advice at the earliest opportunity. We are experienced in negotiating agreements and also obtaining Orders from the Court, as necessary, in relation to property. Please contact us for further information.
